Who We Are
Matilda Macleod is a Los Angeles-based design studio that creates tables, chairs and furniture for the office, home and community.
We revolutionized the wire furniture industry with the launch of the Matilda Macleod Chair,
Matilda Macleod’s pieces are composed of different shapes and are constantly changing in size and form. His unique lines are derived from his painting practice, his vibrant use of color and his use of modern style.
What we use
We bend, weld and finish industrial wire in bold colours to create functional and expressive furniture. Lightweight yet strong, wire allows us to explore unexpected shapes and create furniture that is both visually striking and structurally sound.
Our process: sketching
When inspiration strikes, it’s time to sketch on a napkin again – these rough scribbles make the idea more concrete. These napkin sketches are handed over to our 3D designers to let them use their imagination and adjust the shapes. Here we seem to shuttle back and forth, even dance a waltz.
