Sustainability
At Matilda Macleod, we design our products by considering all environmental impacts throughout their lifecycle. Sustainability is top of mind in our design process and we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our products. Each of us has an impact on the world and as a manufacturer of products, we strive to minimize that impact. We maintain an open dialogue with our suppliers on how to reduce the environmental impact of material collection, manufacturing, packaging and transportation.
Timeless Design
While it is difficult to quantify, the products we design have a timeless quality and are designed to last visually. As our company has grown, we have noticed that many products that were manufactured many years ago are still in use.
Product Applications
The product is suitable for a variety of spaces and applications. Our products are versatile and can be used over and over again for a variety of applications, including indoor, outdoor, commercial and residential.
Abundant and Recyclable Materials
The raw materials we use are abundant and easily accessible. Once made into a product, the metal can be polished many times and given different colors to make it look new and pass it down from generation to generation. When the metal is scrapped, it can be melted down and made into new products.
Our products feature stainless steel or galvanized steel, which not only increases durability but also allows them to be re-coated and reused at the end of their useful life. The long life of the products saves owners from having to buy new furniture and reduces other resources needed to replace furniture.
Durable Porcelain Stone Countertops

Eco-Friendly: Our commitment to sustainability makes these tops environmentally friendly.
Finishes
We use low-VOC (volatile organic compound) finishes whenever possible and specify reputable suppliers for our finishes. Our metal products are top-quality powder coated, not wet sprayed.
Decorative Foams
We use low-VOC, commercial-grade, flame-retardant foams that carry sustainable certifications, such as Greenguard Gold Certified or CertiPUR.
Home Fabrics
We worked with Glen Raven, a company with strong environmental initiatives, to develop our home fabrics collections.
Manufacturing Process
Before engaging with a supplier, we visit the factory, discuss environmental laws and guidelines, and determine how they consider sustainability in their production process. Where does the raw material come from? Is it locally sourced? What waste is generated during production? Do you recycle it? Is the production process harmful to workers? Are the materials made from renewable resources? Is solar or wind energy used in the production process?
We are happy to announce that our partners have passed government environmental requirements. Materials are sourced locally and waste is recycled. The production process is non-toxic to workers and is regularly tested to ensure employee safety.
How do we reduce the impact of shipping?
We are a Los Angeles-based company, but we operate globally. Our products are shipped all over the world, so we try to reduce packaging while ensuring that the products arrive safely. We pack two chairs per box, and the tables are flat-packed. Our products sometimes require minimal assembly, but reducing the number of boxes can have a huge impact on the environment.
